Empowering Women in the Teaching Profession
Join us for an interactive and empowering session designed to facilitate conversations about gender based barriers that women experience during their career pathways in the teaching profession. This session aims to create a supportive space where teachers and school leaders can discuss and explore the challenges they face in the workplace to collaborate on finding effective solutions. Through facilitated discussions, sharing of experiences, and interactive activities, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Identify the common barriers and challenges faced by women in the teaching profession, including gender bias, unequal opportunities for career advancement, work-life balance issues, and more.
- Share personal stories and experiences in a safe and supportive environment, fostering a sense of community and solidarity among participants.
- Collaborate on developing actionable solutions and initiatives to promote gender equity and create a more inclusive and supportive work environments in the education system.
Whether you're a seasoned educator or just starting out in your teaching career, this session welcomes women from all backgrounds and experiences to come together, support one another, and work towards breaking down gender based barriers in the teaching profession.

Registration is limited to 60 participants.
This event has an attendance deposit of $11.98 (including Eventbrite fees so $10.00 +$1.98). Attendance deposit will be refunded on verification of attendance.
Registration will open Monday April 1 at 7:00pm on Eventbrite and is first come, first served.
Once the tickets sell out, Eventbrite will provide a waitlist option. Registration closes Friday April 19 at noon.
One ticket per participant. Please do not register for others. This session is for certificated Local 38 members only.
